- A Tesla driver reportedly caused a six-car crash after driving the wrong way down a road.
- It’s unclear what caused the driver to do such a thing but it led to several hospitalizations.
- Authorities are still investigating the accident that happened just outside Anaheim.
A chaotic six-car collision erupted at the intersection of Orangethorpe Ave and Beach Blvd in Buena Park, California, on Tuesday afternoon. What they learned from witnesses is that the six-car accident started with a Tesla driving the wrong way down the street. One person said they approached oncoming traffic at triple-digit speeds.
That sort of velocity would certainly explain some of the resulting damage at the crash scene. Two of the six vehicles, including the Tesla Model Y, ended up flipped over. Firemen extricated two of the drivers who couldn’t get out on their own.

The Buena Park Police Department responded to the crash and reported the road closed Tuesday afternoon. They did not provide details about the individuals involved in the crash but it’s confirmed by OnScene.TV that three individuals including the Tesla driver went to the hospital.
Witnesses claim that the Tesla driver was speeding just prior to the crash. “I was sitting at the red light, waiting for a red light and I saw this person hauling a** toward us at over 100 miles per hour,” witness Tiffany Russell told KTLA. “She smacked the cars right next to me. I don’t know how she missed me.” In a police post about the incident on Facebook, others report similar accounts.
“Mega fast! I was walking on the sidewalk going to Denny’s and the velocity from the vehicle flying by nearly knocked me over,” said one. “The Tesla was going the wrong way & drove into the other cars that were waiting at the stop light & then it flipped over,” said another.
Surely, authorities will investigate why the Tesla was on the wrong side of the road.
