2025 Infiniti QX60 Ditches V6 For Turbo Four

Infiniti has joined the downsizing trend, swapping the QX60’s V6 for a turbocharged four-cylinder for the new model year. The 2025 QX60 adopts the same variable-compression 2.0-liter engine as its smaller siblings, the QX50 and QX55.

Despite the smaller displacement, this turbo four punches out 268 hp and 286 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic. That’s a drop in horsepower compared to the outgoing V6’s 295 hp, but peak torque is higher.

On the other hand, efficiency, at least on paper, has improved compared to the V6 model. FWD models are rated at 22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined (versus the V6’s 21 mpg, 26 mpg, and 23 mpg, respectively), while AWD models are good for 22 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined (versus the V6’s 20 mpg, 25 mpg, and 22 mpg, respectively).

New Black Edition

In times gone by, bathing a new car in chrome accents from the factory was all the rage. Things have swung the other way in more recent times and now, it’s all about making new cars look aggressive and stealthy with black elements.

The 2025 Infiniti QX60 is the latest vehicle to be offered with such black touches, thanks to the launch of the new Black Edition Package. Additionally, other updates have been made to the rest of the range.

This special version of the QX60 comes standard with a set of distinctive black 20-inch wheels and rocks a set of gloss black roof rails. The black elements extend across the grille surround and badges, while the badge at the front is now illuminated, adding an extra sense of luxury to the SUV.

Regardless of whether buyers opt for the Black Edition Package, all 2025 QX60 models will come with a new key fob featuring approach unlock and walkaway locking functions. Additionally, QX60 Luxe variants will come standard with a 17-speaker sound system.

Plenty more technology is packed into the QX60. For example, all models come standard with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen featuring Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and SiriusXM radio. Infiniti has also equipped the SUV with an Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, a Smart Rear View Mirror, Traffic Sign Recognition, and ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link support for single-lane highway driving.

Other key safety systems include Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and High Beam Assist.

How much does it cost?

Prices for the new model start at $50,200 for the entry-level Pure (a $550 increase of the base 2024MY V6 model) and increase to $56,800 for the Luxe, or an extra $1,900 with the Black Edition Package. Sitting above the Luxe is the QX60 Sensory, priced from $59,100, while sitting at the top of the range is the $66,150 QX60 Autograph.
