- The 2026 Honda Passport enters its 4th generation with more rugged styling.
- A teaser reveals a new front fascia with prominent “Passport” branding.
- It promises to be their most capable SUV ever, with the V6 engine likely to carry over.
Honda has finally confirmed a new generation of the Passport is lumbering towards us, scheduled to arrive early next year. The announcement, naturally, included a shadowy teaser image showcasing the 2026 Passport in Trailsport trim – likely to remain the most “rugged” option in the lineup.
The teaser offers a glimpse of the completely redesigned front fascia. Gone are the elaborate LED flourishes of the outgoing model, replaced with a simpler set of headlights with the Trailsport model also gaining some amber accents. The grille adopts a slimmer profile with five horizontal slots, now adorned with a requisite orange Trailsport badge.

The front fascia redesign extends to a large “Passport” inscription emblazoned across the bumper. A hint of a hood scoop also pokes through the shadows, though its functionality remains a mystery. The teaser helpfully concludes with a silhouette of the SUV, confirming it still resembles… an SUV.
The company boldly declares that the new Passport will be “the most adventure-ready and capable Honda SUV yet.” It also emphasizes the model’s “off-road capability, versatility, and innovative features,” highlighting its role in a lineup rich with SUV options.
Honda remained vague about specifics, but it’s probable the new Passport will share its platform with the larger Honda Pilot and the upscale Acura MDX. Don’t anticipate new powertrain options such as a four-cylinder hybrid; Honda seems poised to stick with the existing non-electrified 3.5-liter V6, currently delivering 280 hp (209 kW / 284 PS) and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque, paired to a 10-speed automatic.
This upcoming model marks the fourth generation of the Honda Passport. The current third-generation debuted in 2019 and underwent a facelift in 2022, followed by minor updates in subsequent model years. The Trailsport variant was introduced in 2022 as part of a mid-lifecycle refresh and received further enhancements for the 2024 model year.
