• Cadillac officials have suggested the Celestiq is off to a strong start as it has attracted “many” customers.
  • That’s an encouraging sign as the model marks the brand’s return to the ultra-luxury segment, which is dominated by Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
  • The future is looking bright for Cadillac as the brand has an assortment of new and updated models on the horizon.

The Cadillac Sollei concept was the star of last week’s media preview, but the event was also closely tied to the Celestiq. Besides occurring at Cadillac House, two Celestiqs were on display and the Sollei itself is based on the ultra-luxury flagship.

With that in mind, it’s natural to check in on the brand’s six-figure halo. While officials acknowledged initial reaction was mixed, Michael Simcoe said the car’s bravado and elegance has attracted “many” customers.

There’s no word on numbers, but the Celestiq is handmade and the company has previously said “no more than six vehicles will be assembled at any time, ensuring the many layers of attention and quality control are painstakingly executed.” This guarantees exclusivity as well as low production numbers.

Besides hinting at a successful launch, the Senior Vice President of Global Design said Cadillac won’t move backwards. That’s been made abundantly clear from recent models such as the 2025 Escalade and Escalade IQ. Both adopt a similar design philosophy and are notably more upscale than the vehicles that came before them.

Global Cadillac Vice President John Roth was also upbeat as he said the brand’s vision plan is “playing out really well.” While second quarter and year-to-date sales were down slightly, the Lyriq has become their second-best selling vehicle. The company also noted that in the second quarter, “more than half of buyers with a trade-in were conquests from a competing manufacturer, including Tesla and Lexus.”

The good news should continue as Cadillac will soon be flush with new product. Besides the aforementioned Escalade and Escalade IQ, there’s the Optiq, Vistiq, and facelifted CT5.
