• A Corvette dealer says Chevrolet sent him a car with completely mismatched seats.
  • While the frames are identical, the colors are different and stick out like a sore thumb.
  • Somehow, the car still managed to pass various quality checks before delivery.

Rick Conti is a notable Corvette enthusiast and dealer who also happens to run his own YouTube channel. According to Conti, he’s been dealing with a lot of in-transit damage to inventory lately. So, imagine the frustration when one car showed up in good condition—only to have mismatched seats. There’s no word yet on exactly how it will be fixed either.

Conti posted a video to his channel detailing the situation and showing off the cabin of the Corvette in question. The customer ordered the Chevrolet sports car with Sky Cool Gray seats and that’s what the passenger side is. Sadly, the driver’s side is a Jet Black seat. At least both are of the GT2 design variety.

Some owners might be inclined to keep the car in this state as it is indeed a true one-of-one, but that likely means little since this isn’t a factory-documented order. Ultimately, the owner wants his Corvette the way he ordered it, with two matching Sky Cool Gray seats. How exactly he’s going to get that isn’t quite certain yet though.

Conti has since deleted his video for unknown reasons. Before it was removed, Corvette Blogger recorded one of his quotes about the situation: “We’ve been dealing with a lot, just an exorbitant amount of in-transit damage,” says Conti.

“That’s been an inconvenience to us, but more importantly to our customers, and now we’re dealing with that. I’ll let you know how it’s resolved…look forward to seeing you guys tomorrow night at Tech Tuesday,” he added.

It doesn’t appear as though Conti provided any update during his Tech Tuesday video either. Notably, he does comment on the very subtle differences available between packages including why some interiors end up with Sky Gray door panel inserts and others don’t.

If anyone can get to the bottom of what happened here, it’s likely him. Surely, Chevrolet is going to make this right, but the question is, how, and when?
