- Dubbed the V8 LE60, this MGB-based sports car weighs just 2,473 pounds (1,121 kg) and makes 375 hp.
- Frontline Cars also worked on the chassis to ensure it can handle the power.
Classic cars can stir the soul. The way they sound and feel from inside the cabin is unique. Of course, they often lack the precision, luxury, and performance modern automotive enthusiasts have come to love. That’s where Frontline Cars come into play with its restomod MGB.
This isn’t a fly-by-night brand hoping for an influx of cash after showing off a render or two. No, Frontline Cars have been around for three decades. In that time, it’s proven that it’s a bonafide restomod specialist capable of truly gorgeous creations. Now, its first V8 MGB, the V8 LE60, is about to make its American debut at Monterey Car Week.

The model was first revealed back in September of 2023. Specs are unchanged from that time. Under the hood is a Rover V8 with 375 hp, or roughly four times what this car came with originally.
That power is fed to the rear wheels only via a Tremec manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The chassis has been strengthened over the original car and a wider track for more stable performance.
“The LE60 has never been ‘just a car’ to us – it’s a heartfelt celebration of our [Frontline’s] history and our deep connection with this iconic British brand. We can’t wait to meet enthusiasts who share our love for the MGB at Monterey Car Week, and to offer them the chance to experience the blend of tradition and modern performance that defines our vehicles,” says Tim Fenna, Founder and Chief Engineer of Frontline.
The big deal here really is that Frontline Cars is coming to North America. The car coming to the states is left-hand drive and will be available for demonstrations and test drives. Pricing isn’t currently public but the company does offer sales of pre-owned cars on its site. Those range from $120,000 to $147,000. All of them are of the four-cylinder variety though so expect any new bespoke version of the V8 LE60 to cost quite a bit more.
