America’s finest, or at least its best-looking, police cruisers are battling it out. The American Association of State Troopers (AAST) has once again unleashed its annual beauty contest, pitting 49 state-issued rides against each other. It’s time to decide which cruiser deserves a spot on your wall.
Among the contestants, there’s a lineup of models from the usual suspects—Ford, Dodge, and Chevrolet. The photos include the holy trinity of modern muscle cars (Ford Mustang GT, Chevrolet Camaro, and Dodge Challenger), a slew of SUVs decked out for police duties (Ford Explorer, Dodge Durango, and Chevrolet Tahoe), the ever-present Dodge Charger sedan, and a couple of full-size trucks (Ford F-150, and Chevy Silverado).

Interestingly, only one state—Massachusetts—chose to compete with a fully electric vehicle, flaunting their Ford Mustang Mach-E next to a helicopter. So, don’t expect to see any Tesla police cars cars in the gallery below. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as the ICE-powered Mustang and Camaro state trooper cruisers look far more intimidating than a Tesla Model Y.
Beyond the different combinations of colors and graphics on the liveries, strobe light setups, and bull bars, we have to appreciate the photography skills showcased in some of the entries. These photos do a fantastic job of highlighting the beautiful scenery of their respective states and will undoubtedly look stunning in the calendar.
For an added wow factor, a few departments included boats, bikes, and helicopters in their photoshoots.

Nebraska State Patrol
The 13 state trooper cruisers with the most votes will be the stars of the 2025 AAST calendar, bringing pride to their respective police departments for a full month. More importantly, all proceeds from the calendars will support the charity work of the AAST Foundation, known for providing scholarships to students and aiding troopers in need.
