The RX is Lexus’ best-selling vehicle and it’s getting a handful of updates for 2025. Key among them is a new Black Line Special Edition, which is based on the RX 500h F Sport Performance.
While that’s a mouthful, the Black Line Special Edition is distinguished by an Incognito exterior with black accents. They’re joined by black 21-inch wheels, which are contrasted by orange brake calipers.

Additional changes are limited, but the model’s two-tone appearance is echoed inside with a black interior that features gray contrast stitching. Production will be limited to 500 units across North America, so it sounds like Canadians will also be getting in on the action.
Besides the new special edition, Lexus decided to add an F Sport Design trim. That seems wholly unnecessary considering there were already Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F Sport Handling, and F Sport Performance grades.
Bloated lineups aside, the F Sport Design trim is available exclusively on the RX 350 and RX 350h. The trim builds on the Premium grade and adds F Sport styling details including the front fascia, grille, and rear valence. They’re joined by black open pore wood trim and 21-inch wheels with a black finish.
2025 Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance Black Line Special Edition
If seven trims weren’t enough, the RX offers a dizzying array of powertrains. There are so many options even Lexus got confused and claimed the RX 350 has a “2.5L In-line 4-cylinder turbo.” That’s close, but no cigar, as it actually has a familiar turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder producing 275 hp (205 kW / 279 PS) and 317 lb-ft (429 Nm) of torque.
Likewise, the RX 350h returns with a hybridized powertrain that produces 246 hp (183 kW / 249 PS) and 233 lb-ft (316 Nm) of torque. The RX 500h F Sport Performance, on the other hand, has 366 hp (273 kW / 371 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque.
Since that’s clearly not enough options, Lexus also offers an RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid. It features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, three electric motors, and an 18.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This gives the model a combined output of 304 hp (227 kW / 308 PS) and an electric-only range of 35 miles (56 km).
The 2025 Lexus RX will arrive at U.S. dealerships later this year and pricing will be announced closer to launch. However, expect it to cost slightly more than its predecessor which began at $49,950.
