UK-based Clive Sutton has rolled out what it considers the ultimate version of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, likening it to an airliner’s first-class experience. Does its creation have all the right ingredients to live up to this hype?
Arguably the most important part of a commercial airplane’s first-class suite is the seat. To make this Sprinter as plush as possible, Clive Sutton has installed seven seats clad in custom leather with a fully-electric leg rest, recline and sliding functions, heated and cooled features, adjustable lumbar support, and in-built massages. They certainly look the part, and adjustments can be made through a dedicated touch panel on the armrest. The seats get the tick of approval then.

First-class seats in an airliner also prioritize privacy, so this special Sprinter includes an electronically controlled partition that separates the passenger compartment from the front row. Dark privacy glass helps to ensure those outside can’t see into the cabin. There are also a pair of 43-inch TV screens, complete with Apple TV and HDMI connectivity. One feature of the Mercedes that you won’t find on an airplane is the onboard PlayStation 5.
Boosting the cabin’s luxury feel even further are wood veneers, a Milano suede headlining, and plush carpeting. A thumping sound system has been fitted alongside an onboard WiFi system, a huge panoramic glass roof, and two drinks fridges.
“For many years, our customers have demanded a level of luxury and convenience that surpasses what is available in the standard luxury vehicle market,” Clive Sutton said when speaking about the Sprinter. “Our 2025 First Class Sprinter joins our premium line up of VP Class Mercedes-Benz, VIP London Taxi, and Lexus LM VIP conversions, which set Clive Sutton apart as a leader in luxury transportation for customers in the UK and around the world.”
The firm’s road-going first-class suite is being presented at Salon Prive in the UK this weekend. Prices start at an eye-watering £230,000 (~$303,000) plus VAT.
