- Dodge is gearing up to introduce an all-new Attitude in Mexico.
- While its predecessor was a rebadged Mitsubishi Mirage, the latest model is a Dodge-ified version of the GAC / Trumpchi Empow.
- The car will debut soon and could be powered by a 1.5-liter engine developing 168 hp.
Dodge’s Mexican lineup feels like it’s ripped from an alternate reality as their best-selling vehicle is a Chinese import and it’s closely followed by a rebadged Mitsubishi Mirage known as the Attitude. However, with the Mirage living on borrowed time, something had to change.
Enter the 2025 Attitude, which finally lives up to its name thanks to an aggressive design. As you can see in the teaser images, the model looks like a modern day Mitsubishi Lancer as its sports a familiar front end with slender headlights and a large grille with a black horizontal bar. They’re joined by muscular intakes and offset Dodge badging.

While the design looks nearly 20 years old, this is no Mitsubishi. Quite the opposite as pictures from south of the border have revealed the Dodge is actually a rebadged GAC / Trumpchi Empow. This shouldn’t be too surprising since the Mexican Journey is a Dodge-ified version of the GAC / Trumpchi GS5.
Dodge isn’t saying much at this point, but the Empow features LED headlights and 16- to 18-inch alloy wheels. In terms of size, the model measures 185 inches (4,700 mm) long and has a wheelbase that spans 107.7 inches (2,736 mm). This means the car is slightly larger than the ill-fated Dart, which measured 183.9 inches (4,672 mm) long and had 106.4 inches (2,703 mm) between the wheels.
Moving inside, we can expect a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system. There should also be a host of available driver assistance systems including Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Traffic Jam Assistance. They should be joined by High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and traffic sign recognition technology.
The Empow features a 1.5-liter engine with 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm) of torque. It will presumably carryover to the Dodge and be joined by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
