• Cadillac has revealed pictures and initial details about the redesigned XT5.
  • The Chinese-spec crossover has a bold new look and a Lyriq-inspired interior.
  • The crossover is slightly larger than its predecessor and is slated to have 227 hp.

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed the redesigned Cadillac XT5 earlier this year and now the brand is gearing up to launch the model. As part of this effort, they’ve released a handful of photos including our first official look inside.

Starting there, we can see the XT5 draws inspiration from the Lyriq as it sports a 33-inch curved display, a familiar steering wheel, and door-mounted seat controls. They’re joined by a unique dashboard that appears to have a wide swatch of dark wood trim.

Other notable highlights include a floating center console, stylish speaker grilles, and dedicated climate controls. Cadillac also said we can expect “Eames-inspired seats” as well as a 126 color ambient lighting system. Buyers will also find Nappa leather and a larger cargo compartment that holds 23.1 cubic feet (653 liters) of luggage.

The exterior design isn’t a surprise at this point, but the model features a wide grille that is flanked by split lighting units. The XT5 also has a “diamond-cut design” with taut bodywork and a pronounced shoulder line. They’re joined by an angular rear pillar with a blacked out accent to give the appearance of a floating roof.

While Cadillac didn’t show the rear end, previous images have revealed the model will have a stylized liftgate and protruding taillights. They’ll be joined by a roof-mounted spoiler and a subtle crest.

The redesigned XT5 measures 192.4 inches (4,888 mm) long, which makes it slightly larger than its predecessor which came in at 189.6 inches (4,816 mm). The model is also slated to have six-piston Brembo brakes and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine developing 227 hp (169 kW / 230 PS).
