• The Fulwin T11 has a 1.5-liter turbo engine paired with two electric motors.
  • Chinese media says the SUV will be able to travel up to 124 miles (200 km) on electric power.
  • We think its side profile and two-tone paint job give off a Mercedes-Maybach GLS vibe.

New images of Chery’s Fulwin T11 flagship SUV have surfaced online, and with its flashy two-tone paint, chrome bling, and massive footprint, some are calling it a budget Range Rover. It certainly looks the part — if you squint hard enough and don’t mind skipping a few zeros on the price tag.

It’s not hard to see why the Fulwin T11 draws Range Rover comparisons. The LED headlights and daytime running lights share some obvious similarities with the Range Rover Sport, although we do think Chery has done a good job of giving the big SUV a unique face. This is particularly apparent with the faux grille design that includes roughly two dozen silver slats running vertically up the fascia. Most of the cooling appears to come from the lower grille, finished in gloss black with slats that open and close.

Viewed from the side, there are some hints of Range Rover models and even the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, but we certainly wouldn’t label this a blatant rip-off of either of them. It has attractive, tightly-spoked wheels, and the entire top half of the T11 is adorned with a satin silver finish, while the rest of the body is painted blue. Chrome trimming is found on the skirts and window frames.

A pair of sleek taillights connected with a light bar highlight the rear end of the T11. Also catching the eye is the simple black lower bumper and the lack of any visible tailpipes.

Car News China reports the T11 will hit the market with the firm’s C-DM plug-in hybrid powertrain. This consists of a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 154 hp and 162 lb-ft (220 Nm) of torque as well as electric motors at both the front and rear. The combination of two electric motors, a sizeable (yet currently unspecified) battery pack, and the 1.5-liter engine will give the T11 upwards of 870 miles (1,400 km) of combined range. It should be able to run for roughly 124 miles (200 km) on electric power alone.

The new model could be presented in the coming days at the Chengdu Auto Show.
