- Infiniti will reportedly drop the QX50 and QX55 in the near future.
- The models won’t get a direct successor, but the brand could offer a version of the Nissan Rogue.
- The Infiniti ‘Rogue’ would reportedly be a hybrid and likely become the brand’s entry-level model.
Infiniti is at a crossroads as the brand recently killed the Q50 and their previously announced EV has been continuously delayed. If that wasn’t bad enough, the Q60 and Q70 are a distant memory.
On top of that, the QX55 is a certified flop. The me too crossover coupe has generated a mere 1,854 sales through the second quarter and the model’s best showing was in 2023 when the brand sold 5,417 units in America.

Given numbers like that, it’s not surprising the QX55 is rumored to be living on borrowed time. Automotive News is reporting that Infiniti won’t release a follow up to the QX50 or QX55, and AutoForecast Solutions says production will end in August of 2026. However, the automaker may potentially extend their lifecycles.
While it wouldn’t be surprising to see the QX55 get the axe, the QX50 is the brand’s entry-level model and is still relatively popular. The company has sold 5,156 units through the first half of the year, but sales have dropped nearly 50% from a few years ago.
To help fill the gap, Infiniti could offer a version of the Nissan Rogue. Automotive News said the luxury brand is currently exploring the idea and the model would likely be a hybrid.
While it remains to be seen if Infiniti will go Rogue, the brand has already announced plans for a new QX65 crossover coupe. It will be a mid-sized two-row SUV and the publication reports it will be based on the QX60 and target the Lexus RX.
