• Pininfarina unveiled the Battista Targamerica, their first one-off coachbuilt special.
  • The roofless hypercar was inspired by Agnelli’s Ferrari Testarossa Spider.
  • Bespoke features include a cigar holder and humidor mounted between the seats.

Automobili Pininfarina has revealed their first coachbuilt special based on the Battista. The Pininfarina Battista Targamerica is a one-off version of the electric hypercar, featuring an open-top body alongside unique interior and exterior details, tailored to the preferences of its owner.

The unique hypercar was commissioned during the 2023 Monterey Car Week. One year later, it will delivered to its owner in the U.S., who is a “renowned car collector and existing Battista owner”. The company said that the one-off contains “several elements personal to the client, referencing their life and achievements”, making it even more special to them.

The main difference compared to the standard Pininfarina Battista is of course the lack of a roof and the slightly redesigned rear deck. The exterior combines Argento Liquido Gloss (silver) with Iconica Blu Gloss (blue) accents, inspired by Gianni Agnelli’s custom 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider. The Iconica Blu pinstripes under the rear wing were hand-painted by an artisan. Another special touch is the unique ceramic-polished alloy wheels with black anodized aluminum center caps and a five-spoke design reminiscent of Ferrari.

The exposed interior features supple tan leather upholstery, contrasting with the black leather on the dashboard and steering wheel. The headrests have an embossed F logo, while there is a one-of-one plaque mounted between the seats. Automobili Pininfarina also threw in a bespoke luggage set, which matches the cabin’s upholstery and is embossed with the silhouette of the Battista Targamerica.

The ultimate highlight of the interior is the custom cigar holder and humidor, created specifically for the customer. The bespoke aluminum and glass case can hold up to three cigars, with illumination matching the color of the selected driving mode.

Dave Amantea, Chief Design Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, described the Battista Targamerica as their “first coach-built one-off vehicle”, adding that it “will forever stand as a one-of-its-kind vehicle and will never be repeated”.

Besides the redesigned panels, the company had to re-engineer the carbon fiber monocoque to accommodate the new bodystyle. Andrea Crespi, Chief Technical Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, said that the challenge was to deliver “Battista levels of performance without the tensile support of a hard-body roof”, something that was made possible thanks to a “creative, one-of-kind solution”.

The Pininfarina Battista Targamerica shares the Rimac-sourced electric powertrain with the regular Battista and B95 Barchetta hypercars. The quad electric motors deliver a combined output of 1,874 hp (1,398 kW / 1,900 PS) and 2,340 Nm (1,726 lb-ft) of torque, while the battery has a capacity of 120 kWh. According to Pininfarina, the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) is completed in less than 2 seconds, and the top speed exceeds the 300 km/h (186 mph) mark.

The public debut of the Pininfarina Battista Targamerica will take place at The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering, together with the Batman-inspired B95 Gotham. Right after the event, the one-off will be delivered to its owner, who paid an undisclosed amount for the one and only roofless Battista.
