• Buyers will need to cough up $14,995 for the stunning paint finish.
  • RTR Vehicles has also launched several other exclusive color options for the Mustang.
  • The tuner has even launched a Paint-to-Sample program, just like Porsche.

Color-shifting colors may not be to everyone’s taste but they sure as hell are eye-catching and thanks to RTR Vehicles, founded by drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr., owners of 2024 Ford Mustangs can have their cars painted in a special shade of Mystichrome.

Ford first launched a variation of this color on the 1996 Mustang Cobra before reformulating it and launching it on the 2004 Cobra. Roughly 1,000 vehicles were painted in the special color before Ford killed it off. While it would have been lovely if Ford itself revived the paint, RTR is probably the next best alternative.

The paint has been created as part of the RTR Extended Color Palette, and as these photos show, it is mesmerizing. It features a mixture of colors, including purple, green, gold, teal, blue, and yellow, depending on the angle at which it’s viewed. When paired with a set of bronze wheels, it looks fabulous.

As you’d imagine, the special paint is quite pricey, although it does cost less than we’d expect it to from a major OEM. Shoppers will need to part ways with $14,995 to have their Mustang sprayed in Mystichrome. A second color, dubbed Urban Bamboozle, is also available through RTR for the same price.

Numerous ‘Standard Paint’ options are also available from RTR, each priced at $8,995. These include RTR Hyper Lime, Leadfoot Gray, Azure Blue, Rosso Scuderia, Graphite Magno, Lightning Silver, and at a later date, NATO Olive and Signal Green.

RTR Brings Mystichrome Back For The Ford Mustang And It’s Not A Wrap

RTR Vehicles has also launched a Paint-to-Sample programme, just like the one from Porsche. It will match any color code submitted by a customer and will cost $5,000 more than the $8,995 Standard and $14,995 Premium options, depending on where the colors fall on the palette.

“We are so pumped to introduce the RTR Extended Color Palette and Paint-to-Sample Program!,” Gittin Jr. said of the new paint program. “This is more than just a paint job—it’s about giving RTR owners a chance to express their individuality and passion in a way that’s never been possible before on a Mustang. Our team has worked very hard to offer some unique colorways to choose from, and I love all the colors we’ve curated and made available. Bringing back the legendary Mystichrome paint, last seen on the 2004 SVT Cobra, is my absolute favorite offering. It’s been too long, and someone had to do it!”
