• Skoda has revealed the interior of the upcoming Elroq EV will offer an assortment of eco-friendly materials.
  • The model will offer four design themes including ones that incorporate Recytitan and Technofil.
  • This means the model’s upholstery could be made from recycled water bottles, old fishing nets, or used clothes.

Skoda has been teasing the Elroq for more than a year, but we’re finally getting a glimpse inside. Unfortunately, the company isn’t saying much as they’ve focused on eco-friendly materials.

As such, Skoda confirmed the crossover will be offered with four different interior themes known as Loft, Lodge, Suite, and Studio. The Loft is notable for featuring Recytitan, which is a material made from 78% recycled PET. The model will also be the first Skoda to feature “recycled post-consumer clothing,” which has been processed into high-quality yarns and fabrics.

The automaker said Recytitan will be used for the seat covers, door panels, dashboard, armrest, and knee pads. They added the material provides a “perfect balance of comfort, durability, and sustainability.”

As for what it will look like, Skoda said the Loft will have dark grey-blue fabric as well as dark artificial leather accents. They’ll be joined by reflective yellow contrast stitching.

The Lodge design theme is also eco-friendly, but it uses a material called Technofil. It consists of polyester as well as recycled Econyl yarns, which are made from nylon obtained from fishing nets, fabric scraps, and carpeting.

Here, customers will find black fabric that contrasts with light grey artificial leather. Lodge variants will also have orange stitching as well as orange seat belts.

Skoda didn’t say much else about the interior, but stated the cabin will embrace a Modern Solid design that provides “simplicity, spaciousness, and clean lines.” That isn’t much to go on, but the teaser sketches suggest the model will have a freestanding infotainment system, ambient lighting, and a minimalist center console. We can also see slender air vents as well as what appears to be a digital instrument cluster.

Skoda has previously announced the Elroq will be based on the MEB platform and offered with four different powertrains. The entry-level model has a 55 kWh battery pack as well as a rear-mounted motor developing 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS). At the other end of the spectrum is a dual-motor all-wheel drive variant, which has an 82 kWh battery as well as a combined output of 295 hp (220 kW / 299 PS). This will enable the model to hit 112 mph (180 km/h) and travel more than 348 miles (560 km) under the WLTP.
