After a seemingly endless tease that began over a year ago, Volkswagen has finally dropped the price tag on its retro-futuristic ID. Buzz. Starting at a cool $59,995 not including VW’s $1,550 destination and handling fee, the electric microbus is now ready to roll into American driveways.

VW also revealed an EPA-estimated range of up to 234 miles, giving us a clearer picture of the ID. Buzz’s real-world capabilities. To sweeten the deal, VW flaunted new photos of all the available interior trims.

The first US deliveries of the 2025 VW ID.Buzz are expected later in 2024. The lineup includes three richly-equipped trims, which were detailed a few months ago, shortly after its official debut in July 2023.

The entry-level Pro S starts at an MSRP of $59,995, the mid-spec Pro S Plus at $63,495, and the launch-only 1st Edition flagship at $65,495. This pricing strategy positions the ID. Buzz as Volkswagen’s highest starting price model in North America, surpassing both the fully electric ID.4 and the ICE-powered Atlas SUVs.

In terms of powertrains, the standard single-motor RWD setup is good for 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS), while the dual-motor 4Motion AWD produces 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS), mirroring the EU-spec ID. Buzz GTX. AWD is optionally available in the Pro S Plus and 1st Edition trims, with the entry-level Pro S being exclusively offered in RWD form.

All US-spec VW ID. Buzz models feature a long-wheelbase body and are equipped with the larger 91 kWh battery pack. According to the automaker, the EPA-estimated range for the EV is 234 miles (377 km) in RWD configuration and 231 miles (372 km) for the AWD models.

Even the base-level ID. Buzz Pro S comes packed with plenty of goodies. Think 20-inch alloys, fancy LED lights with animated effects, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, a 5.2-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, 12-way power heated and ventilated front seats with massage functionality, a decent sound system with 9 speakers, and a suite of safety tech under the IQ.DRIVE ADAS banner.

The limitation with the Pro S is its availability in only three single-tone colors. The two-tone configuration shown is an additional $995 option on the Pro S Plus and comes standard on the 1st Edition. Another notable feature is the electrochromic panoramic smart glass roof, which is standard on the 1st Edition and available for an additional $1,495 on the Pro S Plus.

For the first time, Volkswagen has released photos showcasing all three interior trims. The Copper option includes brown leatherette seats with yellow piping, coordinated door inserts, and a washed wood-look dashboard. The Moonlight trim features dark brown leatherette seats accented with white piping, blue door inserts, a black headliner, and a dark wood-look dashboard.

Finally, the Dune trim—highlighted in the original press photos last year—features light grey leatherette seats with clay-colored piping and a light wood-look dashboard. Depending on the trim, interiors are available in either a seven-seater or six-seater layout, offering a choice between a rear bench or captain’s chairs.
