• The modified 2021 Porsche 911 brings Dakar-style ruggedness at a fraction of the cost.
  • New suspension jacks up the 911’s ride height and makes it comfortable off the beaten path.
  • Powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six, this 911 is built for adventure, not just speed.

The Porsche 911 Dakar is undeniably cool, but it’s also a wallet-crushing piece of automotive art, starting at $223,450 – and that’s before any dealer markups. As with other limited-run 911s, prices have predictably soared on the second-hand market, with 911 Dakars now changing hands for over $350,000. That puts it well beyond the reach of most.

So, what do you do if you want to own a 911 to do some light off-roading that won’t cost as much as a house? Well, this modified 2021 911 Carrera Coupe we’ve found on Bring a Trailer might be a good option.

With bidding already surpassing the $100,000 mark, this 911 is anything but cheap. However, it does appear to be quite a compelling package. Modified by fiveninedesigns in Jacksonville, Florida, this 911 has been transformed into an off-road beast, making it nearly as rugged as the 911 Dakar – minus the factory warranty.

Key modifications include Motion Control Systems valved coilovers with remote reservoirs, new control arms, and 18-inch Rotiform wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country A/T tires. Fiveninedesigns also outfitted the car with LED flood and spot lamps on the front bumper, LED cornering lights on the wing mirrors, a ducktail rear spoiler, green tow hooks, and clear side markers. The finishing touch is a subtle ‘911 Offroad’ livery on the sides.

We’re particularly fond of the Porsche’s interior configuration. It is rocking the available heated and ventilated power-adjustable front Sport Seats trimmed in black leather with green seat belts and green accents on the seat backs.

Power comes courtesy of a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six with new software, BMW air filters, and a Sharkwerks exhaust system. The 911 has only been driven ~5,000 miles (~8,000 km) since new and includes an extended-range fuel tank, making it perfect for long and arduous off-road adventures.

If this special Porsche 911 has caught your eye, head over to Bring a Trailer and get your bid in before it’s too late.
