BMW’s Neue Klasse generation of electric vehicles will bring with it a suite of compelling and intriguing models, none more so than the wacky high-riding two-door coupe we spotted in early July. The vehicle depicted in these renderings is much more traditional than that coupe, but if it sees the light of day, it will still turn plenty of heads.
We know that one of the first production models based on the new platform and adopting the overt design philosophy will be a sedan, similar in size to the 3-Series and previewed by the original Neue Klasse concept. This model may also spawn an estate version and renderings from Theottle suggest it could look better than the sedan – at least from some angles.

The front end of the car sits slightly lower than the original Neue Klasse car showcased to the world but retains most of the same styling elements, including the sharp LED headlights and daytime running lights. It also features a pronounced front splitter. However, it’s the side profile of the car that really makes it stand out.
The shoulder line sits quite high while the roof is very low, resulting in slim side windows that probably don’t do much for visibility but do look superb. A large set of wheels with a black and silver spoke design adds to the striking looks, although to us, they do look a little too big for an estate of this size.
And the rear of the car? We’re not sure it looks quite as nice as the front. Similar taillights to the concept are visible, but the rear tailgate protrudes oddly and has been joined by a diffuser that looks a little too outlandish. The design would be a little more appropriate if this was an M product, but even still, it’s not what we’d call beautiful, nor better looking than the current 3-Series Touring.
What do you think of this Neue Klasse estate? Do you love it or loathe it?
