  • The car’s original owner has only driven it 1,115 miles.

Believe it or not, this is one of just 9 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggeras overhauled with bodywork from Zagato. It will be offered to the public for the first time at Gooding & Company’s Pebble Beach auction on August 16 and 17.

Zagato decided to take on the project as a way to celebrate its 95th anniversary and set about converting nine Superleggeras into supercars with unique styling. Each example cost about $1 million and was tailored to the specifications of each buyer.

This example was originally a Superleggera finished in a deep shade of Grigio Lynx gray but it was then shipped to Milan, Italy, and during the transformation, was repainted in the bright yellow you see in the photos.

The bodywork is vastly different than a regular Gallardo. Zagato replaced every single body panel and even went to the trouble of designing and developing new headlights and taillights. The front end stands out thanks to the curvy grille and thin air intakes, while found along the sides are new lower intakes, and intakes just behind the side windows. The Italian design house also crafted a double-bubble roof and a special carbon fiber roof scoop.

Found at the rear are also bespoke tailpipes, a redesigned mesh grille, and a subtle carbon fiber diffuser with an F1-inspired rain light. The interior was re-trimmed in light gray leather with bright yellow contrast stitching.

Despite being delivered a decade ago, the car has only been driven 1,115 miles (1,794 km). It’s expected to sell for between $400,000 and $600,000, a significant drop from the $1,000,000 MSRP.
