• A 29-year-old Danish motorcyclist faces 86 charges after filming his reckless stunts.
  • The unnamed motorcyclist also shared footage of his brazen stunts on social media.
  • He faces a possible prison sentence over reckless driving and other related charges.

Police in Denmark have slapped a 29-year-old motorcyclist with 86 preliminary charges after discovering footage of him speeding and committing several traffic violations. However, it wasn’t public security cameras that captured the man’s brazen antics, but rather his own helmet-mounted action camera.

The unnamed man was first detained in May for riding a motorcycle with no license plates and without having a valid permit. They proceeded to analyze footage from his camera and found that he had filmed himself pulling high-speed wheelies on public roads. This led to him initially being hit with 25 cases of preliminary charges.

ABC News says that after further investigation, police found several hours of additional footage that led them to charge the biker with a further 38 preliminary charges of reckless driving for speeding over 100% above the limit. He has also been hit with several other charges related to endangering the life and safety of others.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it,” Amrik Singh Chadha from a police force in eastern Denmark said of the case. “There is no doubt that it has been a big and unconventional case for us to investigate.”

Reckless driving in Denmark includes driving more than 100% above the speed limit, reaching speeds in excess of 200 km/h (124 mph), and driving with a blood alcohol of above 2.0. Drivers charged with reckless driving can have their vehicles seized, licenses suspended, and face hefty fines.

Footage from the man has not been released publicly, but much of it appears to have been shared on social media. It’s not hard to imagine what it may have looked like, as there are plenty of videos across the internet of other motorcyclists doing crazy things on public roads. Authorities confirmed they confiscated the vehicles of two others who could be identified from the videos.
