Two-time Formula 1 World Champion and current Aston Martin F1 driver Fernando Alonso has just taken delivery of the brand’s ultimate road-going hypercar; the Valkyrie.

While Alonso joined the Aston Martin family well after the Valkyrie was announced, he somehow managed to secure an allocation for the car. The Spaniard worked in partnership with the Q by Aston Martin bespoke service to make his Valkyrie special, opting for a Satin Aston Martin Racing Green paint scheme to mimic the color of his current F1 car. Several AMR Satin Lime graphics are also found across the exterior, and hidden within the massive venturi tunnels are Speed Red and Light and Dark Blue graphics.

The cabin of the Valkyrie has always been sparse, and Alonso’s car is no different. With that being said, it features Pure Black Alcantara with contrasting AMR Line stitching and Alonso’s logo embroidered into the headrests. Aston Martin has also anodized the red accelerator pedal with his #14, Alonso’s racing number.

“It’s hard to put into words how much I have been looking forward to this day,” the driver while taking delivery of the car in Monaco. “To sit at the wheel of my own Valkyrie; one that I have worked on designing so closely with the team at Q by Aston Martin is certainly a day to remember. Valkyrie truly is an F1 car for the road, with so much of the knowledge and technology taken from all the experience Aston Martin has on track and I can’t wait to hit the road.”

The timing of the delivery is interesting. Adrian Newey was the design mastermind behind the Valkyrie while Red Bull Racing still had a relationship with the British carmaker and according to recent reports, the legendary F1 designer will soon be confirmed as Aston Martin’s latest F1 recruit. Newey has spent recent years working exclusively at Red Bull but Lawrence Stroll has reportedly convinced him to switch his allegiance for an annual pay package exceeding $20 million.
