• The Venom 800 caters to enthusiasts who missed out on securing a Ford F-150 Raptor R.
  • The truck accelerates to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, outpacing its rivals easily.
  • Only 250 units of the Venom 800 will be built, making it an exclusive option.

Last year, Hennessey launched its potent Venom 775 version of the F-150, created to rival the Ram 1500 TRX and Ford’s own F-150 Raptor R. Fast forward 12 months, and an even more powerful version of this truck has been launched, fittingly dubbed the Venom 800.

The tuner says that it was inundated with requests from power-hungry pickup truck buyers who’ve been unable to secure a Raptor R and built the Venom 800 to give them an aftermarket alternative. As you could have probably guessed from the name, the truck churns out a monumental 800 hp.

To hit that figure, while also extracting 757 lb-ft (1,026 Nm) of torque at 4,100 rpm, Hennessey has added a 3.0-liter supercharger to the F-150’s standard 5.0-liter V8. It’s also upgraded the air-to-water intercooler, added high-performance fuel injection, and fitted a new high-flow air induction system.

Other modifications include a cat-back exhaust and a proprietary engine management system. The result is a truck that actually outmuscles both the Ram 1500 TRX and F-150 Raptor R and can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.4 seconds while storming down the quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds.

Like its two OEM rivals, the Hennessey Venom 800 isn’t only about huge horsepower and torque figures. Hennessey has installed new six-piston Brembo brakes and a BDX suspension with Fox coilovers that increase the ride height by six inches. The rear shocks have also been upgraded, there’s 20-inch wheels with 35-inch off-road tires, and new steel bumpers have been fitted at the front and rear.

Pickup buyers love accessories, and there’s plenty of them, too. LED off-road lights have been added to the front bumper, there’s a carbon fiber Hennessey grille, electronic fold-out running boards, and illuminated front fender badges.

A handful of small alterations have been made to the cabin of the F-150. These include embroidered headrests, all-weather floor mats, American flag inserts, and a serial-numbered plaque.

Just 250 examples of the Venom 800 will be built. Pricing has yet to be announced.
