- A man engaged in an argument at an event called Rednecks with Paychecks.
- He then drove his jacked-up RAM toward bystanders and over a Jeep Cherokee.
- The suspect is now facing at least five counts of aggravated assault.
Every other year an event called Rednecks with Paychecks happens in Saint Jo, Texas. This year, a man identified as Jonathan Earl Reid, reportedly drove his jacked-up truck toward people and over cars after an altercation.
The incident happened late in the hours of September 20. Video from the scene appears to show Reid arguing with other attendees of the event. Some individuals throw what seem to be beer cans at Reid and his very tall Ram truck. It appears that he decided to throw something back, namely his giant pickup.

According to TexomasHomepage.com, Reid was involved in a dispute after reportedly hitting an UTV with his truck. Footage from the event shows Reid and several other attendees arguing before beer cans are thrown and he gets back into his truck. The engine fires up, he backs up and then drives toward spectators and over parked vehicles including a Jeep Cherokee.
Reports suggest that five individuals were victims of Reid’s actions and two went to the hospital. Evidently, Reid himself complained of an injury after his arrest and also went to Nocona General Hospital. He later ended up in jail, posted $200,000 worth of bond, and is out of incarceration as of this writing, but is facing at least five counts of aggravated assault.
Somehow, this is far from the worst event to ever hit ‘Rednecks with Paychecks’. In 2016, a 34-year-old man died after getting thrown from an ATV during the event. The year prior, a 10-year-old boy was killed after a crash at the same event. It would seem that the lesson learned here is simply to avoid this particular attraction.
