• Peace Vans’ Buzz.Box upgrades VW ID.Buzz with a compact kitchen and storage for $7,995.
  • For $10,995, the Buzz.Box.Sleeper adds a queen-sized bed to the VW ID.Buzz for camping.
  • The Buzz.Camper offers a full kitchen and customizable finishes, with prices TBD.

VW hasn’t even started customer deliveries of the ID.Buzz in the U.S., and yet an aftermarket company is already offering a range of accessories to turn the electric van into the ultimate camper. That’s good news for buyers, considering VW claimed back in March that there wasn’t enough demand to build an ID.Buzz California camper in-house—at least not before the latter half of the decade.

These upgrades and accessories come from a firm known as Peace Vans, an expert on repairing and restoring classic VW vans. The company was able to receive access to an ID.Buzz prototype, allowing it to develop three different upgrade packages before the electric van starts to hit the road.

The most basic option available for the ID.Buzz is known simply as the Buzz.Box. It sits in place of the third row and has been custom-built just for this purpose. Housed within the Buzz.Box is a small kitchen unit with a sink, iso-butane cooker, and a small 25-liter fridge. The box then includes space-saving drawers, and several storage compartments, including a place to keep the van’s factory charging cable. A wireless smartphone charger is also present. The Buzz.Box starts at $7,995.

Those looking to get their ID.Buzz ready for overnight adventures would be wise to opt for the Buzz.Box.Sleeper. It includes the same standard box but now includes a sleeping platform with a large bed, almost the same size as a queen bed. This upgrade has been priced at $10,995.

Aftermarket Camper Kits Transform VW ID.Buzz Into Road-Trip Machine

Peace Vans’ most impressive offering is the complete Buzz.Camper. While the final touches are still being made, the camper will include a fully-equipped kitchen, including a sink and fridge. Preliminary photos also show a large dining area that easily converts into a sleeping area. Customers will also be offered the chance to customization certain finishes, ensuring the van ticks every box. Peace Vans hasn’t yet confirmed prices for the Buzz.Camper.
