Police in Little Rock, Arkansas, have arrested the driver of a black Lexus GX after the male driver led police on a chase through suburban streets in the early hours of the morning.
Dashcam footage from the police vehicle first shows it slowly approaching the Lexus from behind and following it for a couple of minutes. Speaking on the radio, the officer can be heard saying the driver was slowly swerving across lanes and, after entering a 35 mph (56 km/h) zone, sped up to approximately 55 mph (88 km/h).

The driver had plenty of time to pull over once the officer switched on his flashing lights but decided against doing so for roughly a minute, instead slowing to a crawl before accelerating again. Soon after, the officer can be seen attempting a low-speed PIT maneuver on the SUV but it doesn’t work. This prompts the driver to really pick up their speed, flying over speed bumps along a narrow residential road in a bid to escape the officer.
However, just as unexpectedly as the chase begins, it comes to an end. As the driver of the Lexus approaches a speed bump, they slam on the brakes. This appears to have caught the chasing officer by surprise who hits the SUV from the rear, pushing the patrol car onto its side but also stopping the Lexus in its tracks.
The suspect fled the scene on foot but was caught soon thereafter. 50-year-old Antoine Sweezer has been hit with a slew of charges, including speeding more than 15 mph over, reckless driving, criminal mischief, fleeing on foot, fleeing in a vehicle, driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license, public intoxication, trespassing, and leaving the scene of an accident. He was transported to a local hospital before being cleared and transported to Pulaski County Jail.
