- Sedans might be shrinking in numbers, but their design prowess is as crucial as ever.
- While some sedans aim just not to offend, others set out to define automotive design.
- There’s still plenty to choose from, ranging from sporty models to ultra-luxurious rides.
Automotive design isn’t as simple as it might appear to be. Plenty of cars come and go without making a real mark on the hearts of customers. Several seem to aim (and still fail) for just not being offensive. Others go for gold and try to make a mark on automotive design for decades to come. Today, our question is: which new sedan currently on the market is the best-looking of the bunch?
Our opening image is the unquestionably pretty Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. Since it launched all the way back in 2015, designers and enthusiasts alike have largely agreed that it’s a beautiful car. Some of that comes down to its proportions, but the design language overall is excellent.

The Cadillac CT5-V is another potential option here. It’s more aggressive, more angular, and longer. Every bit of its attitude and performance is translated through its styling. The smaller CT4-V gets similar cues but is clearly more subtle and subdued.
I’d also say that the Audi A7 deserves some love for its beautiful proportions and shape. The earliest versions of the RS7 might be the purest form of the car, but even the most recent examples blend powerful design elements with soft curves. Perhaps your preference is for something a bit bigger and more stately though.
The Bentley Flying Spur, Cadillac Celestiq, or Rolls Royce Phantom might check that box then. All three of them have huge presence. They turn heads too and they don’t have to compromise their design principles for the sake of aerodynamics the same way some of the sports sedans do.
There are plenty of other sedans vying for a bit of the spotlight. The Lexus IS, Volvo S60, Porsche Taycan, and Genesis G70 all have their moments of glory, looking pretty slick. But we’re dying to know: which sedan on the market today do you think steals the show? Drop your thoughts in the comments below and let’s see which ride reigns supreme!
