Canadian authorities are on the hunt for an audacious and unlikely car thief after a woman, posing as a potential used car buyer, ran over the Porsche Cayenne owner and brazenly stole his SUV right in front of his house in broad daylight.
Footage from the homeowner’s doorbell camera, released by Peel Regional Police, shows a young woman approach the owner’s house. She’s smartly dressed, wearing glasses and looks more like she’s fundraising for the local church than a criminal about to commit grand theft auto.

The woman tells the Cayenne’s owner that she’s waiting for her dad and asks to see the Porsche. But on footage captured by a second camera we see that she locks the doors once in the driver’s seat, leaving the owner stuck outside.
He walks around the car trying multiple door handles, but when he reaches the rear of the car the woman slams the Cayenne into reverse almost driving straight over him. Fortunately the impact spins the man out to the side of car, because even if he hadn’t been driven over he would have been crushed against a black SUV that the Porsche reverses into.
The woman seems to struggle to get the Cayenne into Drive to escape, and we don’t see her leave the scene, but police confirmed that the Porsche was stolen. They also confirmed that they were looking for two other vehicles that they believe were connected with the theft, and which can be scene in the background. One is a gray Bentley Bentayga, which is parked next to the black SUV and drives off shortly after the crash, and another is a blue BMW SUV.
Although the Porsche’s owner declined to be interviewed by local TV news crews, CP24 says he revealed he had suffered injuries to his elbow, hands and legs in his brush with death.
There’s no word on the identity of the woman, but with such a clear image from the doorbell camera as evidence it’s surely only a matter of days before she’s tracked down. And when cops do catch up with her it’s not only theft charges she’ll have to worry about. Police also want to charge her with dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
