2025 Lotus Emira Turbo SE Lands With 400 HP Four-Pot From AMG

The 2025 Lotus Emira range has grown to now include a third model, dubbed the Turbo SE. This new variant joins the regular Emira Turbo and the Emira V6, boosting the car’s performance and coming with a handful of unique features.

Just like the base model, the new Emira Turbo SE is powered by an AMG-sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. However, rather than being capped at 360 hp and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm), the Turbo SE delivers 400 hp and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm). This means it matches the 400 hp of the Emira V6 while easily out-muscling the 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) torque figure of the six-cylinder model.

Importantly, the Turbo SE is sold exclusively with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, whereas the Emira V6 continues to be the only model offered with a six-speed manual or six-speed auto ‘box. The added horsepower and torque enjoyed by the Turbo SE means it can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.0 seconds, 0.3 seconds quicker than the standard Emira Turbo. The car’s top speed has also been increased by 11 mph (18 km/h) to 180 mph (290 km/h).

The carmaker has installed the Lotus Drivers Pack as standard on the Turbo SE, which adds sportier suspension settings, uprated cross-drilled and ventilated two-piece brake discs, and launch control. The car sports a unique set of 20-inch V-spoke forged Satin Grey wheels, Zinc Grey paint, an Alcantara headliner, red brake calipers, new ‘Emira Turbo SE’ badging, black Lotus branding, and black tailpipes.

Lotus says the ‘SE’ in the new model’s name pays tribute to the optional ‘Special Equipment’ package it offered in several models in years gone by, including the Type 14 Elite, Type 26 Elan, Elan SE Turbo, Lotus Cortina, and Elan S3.

Sales of all three 2025 Emira models have kicked off in several countries across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa. There’s no word on whether the Turbo SE will be added to the US range.
