No Mr. Bond, I expect you to buy. That’s the message from Aston Martin, which is celebrating the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger with a new special edition based on the DB12.
Previewed last week, the model pays tribute to the iconic film, which famously featured a DB5 and marked the first time that James Bond was seen driving an Aston Martin. That relationship would go on to become one of the most successful in cinema as it has lasted decades.

While 007’s car was decked out with a smoke screen and an ejector seat, the DB12 Goldfinger aims to provide a “more indulgent” driving experience that incorporates subtle touches from the film. This starts outside as the model wears a Silver Birch exterior that echoes the one found on the movie car. Designers also created unique 21-inch wheels, which are backed up by black brake calipers. They’re joined by gold side strakes, a silver and black Aston Martin logo, and Q fender badges.
The upgrades continue in the cabin, which features leather seats that are “finished in the classic DB5 fluted style with an intricate Prince of Wales check perforation pattern, in a nod to a classic James Bond suit.” The perforated pattern can also be found on the headliner, doors and treadplates. The latter are also notable for having a plaque that says “60ldfinger Sixty Years.”
To appeal to the Goldfingers among us, the interior features 18k gold plated accents as well as a gear selector inspired by the golden tracking device used in the film. Elsewhere, there’s glossy carbon fiber trim with golden metal accents. Designers also added an embroidered ’eight of hearts’ onto the drivers’ sun visor and it “references the playing card seen in [the] last draw during the famous Miami pool scene.”
Production will be limited to 60 units globally and each will come with a series of “gifts that are as exclusive as the car itself.” These include a custom car cover, a key presentation box, a Silver Birch Speedform model, and a “section of the iconic Furka Pass scene in Goldfinger in 35mm film.”
The latter is an interesting touch, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg as buyers will also receive a limited edition magazine and a magnum of 2007 vintage Champagne Bollinger with four exclusive Bollinger 007 glasses presented in a bespoke Globe-Trotter Air Cabin Case. The other gifts come in a Globe-Trotter attaché case, which features a Silver Birch body and a Prince of Wales check interior.
Deliveries are slated to begin in the second quarter of 2025 and power will be provided by a Mercedes-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 671 hp (500 kW / 680 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. This enables the standard model to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).
Aston Martin Lagonda’s Chief Brand and Commercial Officer, Marco Mattiacci, remarked “It is an incredible occasion to be able to recognize six decades of this partnership with an extraordinary special edition, and pay homage to the very first – and perhaps most famous Aston Martin Bond car. Incorporating these subtle but impactful touches, developed by our own ‘Q’ department has created a very unique offering; one that will be adored by Bond fans across the world.”
