- Aston Martin has teased the new DB12 Goldfinger.
- The model celebrates the 60th anniversary of the film and will likely be a special edition.
- The movie marked the beginning of the relationship between James Bond and Aston Martin.
2024 marks the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger, which is arguably the best James Bond film ever created. Besides putting Sean Connery and 007 on the map, it marked the beginning of the relationship between Aston Martin and the iconic franchise.
A DB5 was prominently featured in the film and it has become one of the most recognizable movie cars of all time. The model was such a hit that a DB5 Goldfinger Continuation was launched in 2020 and limited to 25 units.

The relationship continues to this day and Aston Martin will apparently be celebrating the movie’s anniversary with a new special edition. As you can see in the teaser video, which pays homage to the Goldfinger trailer, the company has created a golden grand tourer worthy of a criminal mastermind.
Aston Martin is keeping details under wraps, but the video was accompanied by a quote from Q saying “I never joke about my work, 007.” That’s a not so subtle hint the vehicle comes from Q by Aston Martin, which is their bespoke service.
While the automaker is playing coy, the car is based on the DB12. This means we can expect a Mercedes-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 671 hp (500 kW / 680 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. It enables the standard model to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).
The apparent DB12 Goldfinger Edition will be unveiled on October 14, so stay tuned for full details.
