• This 2003 Cadillac CTS-V racer features a 6.0L LS2 V8 engine with 500 horsepower for track use.
  • Built by Pratt & Miller, this car comes with extra performance parts and is up for auction.

The CTS-V marked a new chapter in the history of Cadillac. It was a return to genuine performance thanks to a RWD layout. The brand was even bold enough to go racing with the platform. Now, one of those examples is up for sale.

This is one of those rare cases these days where you’ll actually need a trailer too because this is a real race car. One could try driving it away as it does look much like an everyday CTS-V aside from the wild graphics. Despite that, it has no title. Instead, it comes with everything you’d expect from an SCCA race car, including several parts.

Under the hood is a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 that reportedly made 500 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque when new. It sends that power to the rear wheels only via a five-speed manual dog-ring gearbox and a limited-slip differential. According to Bring a Trailer, the seller claims that the clutch assembly is new.

Cadillac might be known for luxury but the only excess one will get here is power and performance. The dash and seats are about as bare bones as they get. The rear seats don’t even exist anymore. At the same time, the buyer is going to get a lot more parts than just the car itself. Included in the sale are things like extra doors, extra windows, two Getrag differentials, two ring and pinion sets, and more.

For now, the bidding is up over $50,000 with four days left in the auction. That’s a lot of cash but no doubt, this is a lot of car too and it could be the perfect weekend toy. Interestingly, some in the comments at the auction claim that this is one of only 10 Cadillacs ever built by Pratt & Miller. That would make this car even more special.
