• Jeep collaborated with The North Face for a limited edition of the Avenger.
  • The model debuts on October 25 and it’s based on the new Jeep Avenger 4xe.

Jeep recently introduced the electrified 4xe trim of the Avenger, adding AWD capabilities to its smallest SUV offering. The flagship version will now gain a new special edition in collaboration with The North Face brand, set to debut on October 25.

Over the years, we’ve seen countless special editions of production models in collaboration with apparel firms, but the little Jeep seems to have a little more substance than those. The company claims that the design teams of both brands spent over two years collaboratively working on this project, suggesting it will feature more than a few stickers and unique color combinations.

Review: Jeep Avenger EV Is A Fun Little Gem That’s Too Small For US

According to Jeep, the SUV will have “strategically-placed” materials and functional design with “neutral mimetic shades reflecting the natural environment”. Reading between the lines, we expect tougher and more sustainable materials for the upholstery, which is already durable and washable in the standard 4xe. Chances are that Jeep will introduce new designs for the dashboard inserts, interior accents, and floor mats, with colors and graphics mimicking products of The North Face brand.

While the teaser is quite cryptic, it is safe to assume that the Jeep Avenger 4xe The North Face Edition will be visually distinguished from the standard model thanks to unique exterior touches. The SUV appears to be painted in a blueish-gray shade with contrasting yellow accents and dark-finished alloy wheels.

The Jeep Avenger 4xe The North Face Edition is inspired by the Mont Blanc mountain, which is the highest summit in the Alps. The SUV will be produced in a limited production of 4,806 units, as a reference to the height of the mountain.

We don’t expect any changes on the 4xe-specific chassis and powertrain of the subcompact SUV. The mild-hybrid setup combines a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine producing 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS), with dual electric motors generating 28 hp (21 kW / 29 PS) each, a small 48V battery, and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The Jeep Avenger 4xe is the only AWD-capable version of the SUV which is also available in FWD-only gasoline, mild-hybrid, and fully electric forms. The rugged version boasts a 210 mm (8.3 inches) of ground clearance, rides on grippier tires, and sports a redesigned bumper, standard roof rails, and a rear tow hook.
