• Trick Rides’ “Scorched” Mustang offers a full carbon-fiber body with three V8 engine options.
  • Each of the 20 limited-edition units is built on a custom chassis from the Roadster Shop.
  • The first “Scorched” restomod is set to debut at the end of the first quarter of 2025.

The burgeoning world of restomods shows no signs of slowing down, and a new company based in Yukon, Oklahoma, has just previewed what could be one of the finest 1969 Mustangs we’ve seen for quite some time.

This new outfit is known as Trick Rides and has been launched by Jason Engel, the founder of Classic Recreations, which itself has built a host of impressive Mustang restomods over the years. Trick Rides’ first model is called the Scorched and it will be showcased at the end of Q1 2025. Exclusivity is key here as they’re capping production at a mere 20 units worldwide

The Scorched sits on a bespoke chassis from Roadster Shop and will include independent front suspension with Fox coilovers. The rear suspension will have a parallel four-link design and new sway bars. As you’d imagine, plenty will be going on under the hood of the Mustang, too.

Customers can opt for a supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote V8 that’s been supercharged by VMP Performance, a 7.1-liter (429 cu. in) Kaase ‘Boss Nine’ V8, or a Ford Performance 7.0-liter (427 cu. in) V8. Regardless of which engine is selected, a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission will be standard, as well as a custom exhaust with Stainless Works headers and MagnaFlow mufflers.

Performance hardware doesn’t end with the engine. The new company will fit all cars with Baer brakes, including six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers. Three-piece Forgeline wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888R tires will also be a standard feature.

All of the muscle car’s body panels will be made from pre-preg carbon fiber. Key parts of the custom design include a carbon splitter, a huge hood scoop, custom skirts, and flared front and rear wheel arches. Billet aluminum door handles, hinges, mirrors, and LED taillights from Ringbrothers have been added.

Like other high-end, carbon-clad Mustang restomods we’ve seen over the years, the Scorched from Trick Rides isn’t for the faint of heart—or wallet. The starting price is $429,000 or about as much as a new Ferrari 812, making this a showpiece for only the most dedicated and deep-pocketed enthusiasts.
