• The new Galaxy Purple color has been introduced on a limited-run version of the Subaru WRX tS.
  • Subaru revealed the 2025 WRX tS earlier this year, featuring a range of performance upgrades.
  • The same color will also be available on the special edition 2025 BRZ Series.Purple.

The 2025 Subaru WRX will soon hit the market with a compelling new color known as Galaxy Purple Pearl and it might just be the best-looking option offered for the popular compact performance sedan.

This new shade appears to be exclusive to the tS edition of the 2025 WRX lineup, which was unveiled earlier this year. In the images, the paint looks quite dark, but when sunlight catches it at the right angle, it glistens and really pops. It’s sharply contrasted by the black fenders, skirts, and bumpers—standard across all WRX models.

While photos never fully capture the real-life effect, it seems a little less in-your-face than BMW’s Thundernight Metallic on the 2-Series Coupe and Z4—leaning more toward a subdued, bluish hue.

Interestingly, the Subaru BRZ will also soon be available in the same shade of Galaxy Purple Pearl. Last week, the carmaker dropped a teaser of the new BRZ Series.Purple Special Edition which was unveiled at Subiefest Texas over the weekend. Production of that model will be capped at just 500 units.

What Do You Think Of Subaru’s New Galaxy Purple On The 2025 WRX tS?

It’s not just this new paint option that makes the 2025 WRX tS compelling. The car retains the same 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Boxer engine as the regular WRX, pumping out the same 271 hp and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel drive have also been retained. What makes the tS a little bit more special are the enhancements under the skin: electronically controlled dampers and STI-tuned suspension.

Other upgrades include beefier Brembo brakes—six-piston calipers up front and two-piston at the rear. Some minor updates have also been made inside, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Recaro bucket seats trimmed in Ultrasuede with blue stitching, and a sprinkling of tS badges to remind you that you’re in something a little spicier.

As for pricing, expect the the 2025 WRX to start around $45,000, but it’s still unclear if the Galaxy Purple Pearl will come as a no-cost option or if Subaru will add a little something extra to the sticker.
