• Alfa Romeo has launched the Giulia and Stelvio Edizione Carbonio in Australia.
  • The special editions feature carbon fiber accents and generous equipment.
  • The company will only offer 33 units of the Giulia and 17 units of the Stelvio.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio are getting close to retirement but before they do, Australian buyers have access to another special edition, offered in very limited numbers. The Edizione Carbonio models are based on the Veloce trim, adding carbon fiber bits and more standard equipment.

Our readers may have a deja vu moment, but the US-spec Carbon Edition models from 2023 were based on the Quadrifoglio rather than the Veloce.

The highlight of the exterior is the carbon fiber finish on the mirror caps and the dual pane panoramic sunroof. In the Giulia sedan, these are joined by a lip spoiler and illuminated door sills, also made of carbon fiber. On the other hand, the Stelvio features unique Alfa Romeo puddle lights.

Other details shared between the two include the Matrix LED headlights, the red Brembo calipers, the black lettering on the tailgate, and the monochrome Alfa Romeo emblems. The Edizione Carbonio models are available in Alfa Red, Alfa White, and Vulcano Black shades.

Inside, both Alfas feature a red engine start button on the steering wheel, inspired by the Quadrifoglio, and a matching key cover. Standard equipment includes the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, the 8.8-inch infotainment, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and plenty of ADAS.

There are no performance upgrades compared to the Veloce trims. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generates 276 hp (206 kW / 280 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft), exclusively mated to an eight-speed automatic. The Stelvio features the Q4 all-wheel-drive system, while the Giulia is rear-wheel-drive. Both benefit from a limited-slip differential on the rear axle.

Production of the Edizione Carbonio models is limited to 33 units for the Giulia and 17 units for the Stelvio for a total of 50 vehicles, reserved for Down Under.

Alfa Romeo is no a big seller in Australia, with 716 registrations in 2023, including 365 examples of the Tonale. This explains why there is still available stock of the 2023 MY Giulia and Stelvio, and even some demo cars from the 2022 MY.
