In an effort to appeal even more to American customers, Genesis is launching a new design studio in California. Scheduled to come online in the first quarter of 2025, the space will encompass 80,000 square feet and house up to 45 team members. Based on the amenities promised, it sounds like a posh place to work.
Genesis Design California stamps an important milestone in the growth of the Genesis brand which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2025. “Genesis is a leader in automotive design,” said Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer of Genesis.

“We take pride in always innovating and looking for inspiration in our everyday lives. The climate, cultural arts, and automotive scene in Los Angeles offered us the possibility to create a dynamic and attractive work experience by integrating nature and light into the work and creative spaces.”
The automaker is designing the location to be warm, natural, and calm. Genesis hopes it will foster focus and creativity better than the traditional office space. A variety of areas will be offered for those who need quiet solitude. On the other end of the scale, it is a high-tech digital design lab. The photo renderings for the new space present a reverence for design. This keeps with the same values and draws from Genesis’ cultural heritage and distinctly Korean hospitality.
Team members can look forward to a colors, materials, and finishes studio, a clay modeling workshop, a library, an open workspace for collaboration, and several conference spaces. Genesis also promises to use the space for events and dining. They’ll even offer a modern tea platform in the lobby as an ode to the brand’s Korean heritage.
Currently, Genesis designs cars in Germany, the USA, and South Korea. This new location will simply add to that family of spaces. On top of that, it complements Genesis House in New York. While that location isn’t a dedicated design studio, it does offer a more customer-facing experience that includes dining, events, and a tea pavilion.
