- This was the only E-Type used during the filming of all three Austin Power’s films.
- Adorning the car is a Union Jack livery with dark blue trimmings in the cabin.
- Jaguar Land Rover has used the car for various corporate events over the years.
The one and only ‘Shaguar,’ a 1967 Jaguar E-Type Roadster used in all three Austin Powers films, is set to cross the auction block this January, courtesy of Mecum Auctions. For die-hard fans of the franchise, this is your chance to own one of the most famous E-Type movie cars.
Interestingly, unlike many movie cars, which often have duplicates for stunt work or close-ups, this E-Type is the one and only used during the making of the films. Yes, this is the exact Jaguar piloted by Mike Myers as the groovy British spy himself, as well as other cast members. Adding to its Hollywood credentials, this car also made an appearance in Madonna’s Beautiful Stranger music video, a tie-in for the franchise.

Following its movie stardom, Mecum says the car has been part of a private collection since the films were shot and has been occasionally loaned to Jaguar Land Rover for corporate events. It stands out from every other E-Type because of the huge Union Jack livery while rocking a dark blue interior. It’s worth noting that it was fully restored by Jaguar Land Rover itself in the mid-2000s and recently underwent a mechanical restoration as well.
Worn Yet Well-Preserved
A look at the odometer reveals the E-Type has been driven a touch over 63,900 miles (~103,000 km). The interior does show plenty of signs of wear fitting for a car from this period, but all things considered, it seems to be in relatively good condition. It retains original parts, including the AM/FM radio and the various buttons and switches on the dashboard.
Under the long bonnet sits Jaguar’s 4.2-liter naturally aspirated inline-six engine, mated to a four-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. It’s the kind of setup that reminds you of why the E-Type remains one of the most celebrated sports cars of all time—a driver’s machine that prioritizes engagement over modern gimmickry.
