• Lamborghini launched the special model to celebrate 100 years since the birth of the company’s founder.
  • Like the Aventador, power is provided by a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 with 759 hp.
  • This Centenario has only been driven 163 km (101 miles).

A Lamborghini Centenario Roadster owned by just a single individual since new will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s this weekend and could sell for between $1.7 million and $2.3 million.

Few car manufacturers are as adept at making limited editions quite like Lamborghini and over the years, it’s frequently taken its ‘regular’ supercars and transformed them into limited-run specials costing millions of dollars. In the case of the Centenario, it’s based on the Aventador and was launched to celebrate 100 years since the birth of Ferruccio Lamborghini. Just 20 Coupes and 20 Roadsters were built.

This pristine Centenario Roadster was sold new in Japan and has been kept at a private collection in Tokyo ever since. It’s only been driven 163 km (101 miles) and looks pristine.

The exterior is clad in a shade of balloon white that’s been contrasted with several bright blue accents, including the front splitter, side skirts, and the intricate rear diffuser. There are plenty of exposed matte carbon fiber parts on display, too, including the wheels and most of the rear fascia. The beautiful configuration continues in the cabin, where black leather and Alcantara are abundant alongside bright blue accents and several white elements.

Like the Aventador, the Centenario Roadster is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12, albeit some small tweaks made to the engine have lifted grunt to 759 hp.

When it was new, the Centenario had a starting price in the US of around $2 million, but in the years following its release, asking prices of lightly used examples jumped considerably, culminating in a red Centenario Roadster being listed for $5.5 million. Prices seem to have cooled since then and in February this year, RM Sotheby’s sold a low-mileage Coupe for $2.14 million in Dubai.
