Every Porsche 911 is special to one degree or another—we get it, this isn’t breaking news. But how often do you come across one with fewer than 300 miles on the odometer?.Even fewer are ones with such little mileage that happen to also be 30 years old. In fact, that’s what makes this 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet so special. It has only 279 miles (449 km) on the odometer since new and is up for auction.

Yes, two hundred and seventy-nine. For those keeping track at home, that’s an average of just 9.6 miles (15 km) per year since it rolled off of the production line in Stuttgart. Forget about road trips; this car couldn’t even complete a single lap of the Nürburgring annually without blowing its lifetime mileage quota. Essentially, this is a museum piece that demonstrates exactly what this car would’ve looked like in brand-new condition.

The seller says that the car’s original owner acquired it as new with 38 miles (61 km) on it in 1995. When that same owner sold it in 2011, they did so with just 107 miles (172 km) on the clock. That’s right, they bought it, garaged it, drove it less than 100 miles, and then sold it. The second owner kept it until last year when he sold it with 259 miles on the odometer. Now, it has just twenty more.

Interestingly, famed Porsche rally driver Walter Rohrl saw the car and signed it on both the door and the glove box. Beyond that, the convertible is relatively normal for a 911 of the time period. It has a few desirable options including a special digital sound package from Nokia, an automatic braking differential, and sport seats.

The winning bidder will will get to experience the thrill of the air-cooled 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine, paired with a proper 6-speed manual gearbox (cue the applause). Originally, it made some 270 horsepower ( kW) and 243 lb-ft ( Nm) of torque. How much it makes now, after all this time just sitting, is anyone’s guess.

On the bright side, the seller claims the car received a bit of mechanical TLC in 2023, including an oil change, a new fuel filter, a fuel pump, and fresh spark plugs. So, at the very least, it’s had a tune-up for the occasional garage rev or short driveway roll. Whether it’s ready to hit the road—or whether anyone will dare—is another story entirely.

Notably, this same car came up for sale in August and the bidding reached $180,993. It didn’t meet the reserve though so it’s back. Will it crest that price this time on Bring A Trailer? With just one day left into the auction at the time of writing, the highest bid stood at $131,000, so it doesn’t seem likely, but in any case we’ll know soon enough.
