- Mitsubishi has launched a new Ralliart-themed edition of the Montero Sport in the Philippines.
- The SUV features black and red exterior accents with Ralliart decals, but remains stock underneath.
- Buyers also get access to free Ralliart merch, including an umbrella, a backpack, and a cap.
Mitsubishi’s approach to the Ralliart brand has always been a bit puzzling. While the name carries weight in motorsport circles, the carmaker seems content to slap a few decals and flashy bits onto their mainstream models and call it a day. The latest example is Montero Sport Black Series Ralliart edition, now available in the Philippines. While it boasts sporty looks and an array of branded merchandise, it’s essentially the same rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Montero Sport (Pajero Sport) that’s been on sale for years, minus any performance or chassis upgrades.
This special edition Montero Sport certainly makes a visual statement, but don’t expect anything more than cosmetic changes. Available exclusively in White Diamond, it features black alloy wheels, glossy black fender flares, and red accents on the bumpers and mud flaps. The highlight? The red and black decals running along the SUV’s profile, along with the Ralliart emblem. The resulting look is, for all intents and purposes, that of a rally support vehicle—minus the dirt and the action, of course.

Inside, the upgrades are similarly minimal. Basically, the Ralliart touch is limited to floor mats with red piping. Buyers also have access to an umbrella, a backpack, and a cap, all featuring Ralliart badging. The merch is included in the price of the vehicle, although these items can also be sourced from Ralliart’s official e-shop in Asia.
Despite the fancy looks, everything remains completely stock under the skin. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel generates 178 hp (133 kW / 181 PS) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque, and is mated to an eight-speed automatic. What is peculiar is that Mitsubishi chose to combine the Ralliart treatment with the RWD model rather than offering the Super Select 4WD-II system as an option.
The Mitsubishi Montero Sport Black Series Ralliart edition is available to order in the Philippines, where it is priced at ₱2,277,000 ($39,300). This means it is a full ₱115,000 ($2,000) more expensive than the model it is based on, proving that Ralliart goodies don’t come cheap.
The Ralliart accessory phase started in 2022 from the Japanese market and has expanded to other regions either with aftermarket bits or with special editions like the aforementioned Montero Sport. Hopefully, the automaker will capitalize on the expertise of its motorsport division with a rugged version of the Mitsubishi Triton or a production version of the performance-focused Outlander Ralliart Concept.
The current Pajero Sport has been around since 2015, with two consecutive facelifts in 2019 and 2024. The long-due next generation of the ladder-frame SUV has already been spied testing, and is expected to arrive in 2025. As with its predecessor, the new Pajero Sport will ride on the underpinnings of the Mitsubishi Triton midsize pickup.
