- Subaru is gearing up to introduce an assortment of STI-tuned models at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
- The company will also show a handful of special editions including the BRZ STI Sport Purple Edition.
- The Crosstrek Hybrid will also make an appearance and be outfitted with STI goodies.
The Detroit Auto Show is shaping up to be a snoozefest, but thankfully the Tokyo Auto Salon also kicks off next month. Honda, Nissan, Suzuki, and Mazda have already previewed their wares and now its Subaru’s turn.
This year’s star will likely be the new BRZ STI Sport Purple Edition. The company isn’t saying much about it, but the car is based on the BRZ STI Sport and features a Galaxy Purple Pearl exterior with contrasting black accents. The updates continue in the cabin, which features silver and gray accents for a “sophisticated” appearance.

The model will go into limited production and it presumably echoes the 2025 BRZ Series.Purple that was introduced in October. It costs $35,445 and features a Galaxy Purple Pearl exterior with black badging and satin silver 18-inch wheels. The special edition also has Ultrasuede upholstery, a short throw shifter, and a flexible V-bar that resides under the hood.
Subaru will show an assortment of other special editions equipped with STI performance parts. This includes the WRX S4 STI Sport R-Black Limited and the Levorg Layback Black Selection. Both, unsurprisingly, embrace the blackout trend.

The Crosstrek Hybrid will also be given an STI makeover. Little is known about it, but the standard model has a new 2.5-liter boxer engine, a 1.1 kWh lithium-ion battery, and two electric motors. The engine produces 158 hp (118 kW / 160 PS) and 154 lb-ft (209 Nm) of torque, while one of the motors generates 158 hp (118 kW / 160 PS) and 154 lb-ft (209 Nm) of torque.
Besides production models, there will be an assortment of race cars including the 2025 BRZ GT300, WRX NBR Challenge 2025, and High Performance x Future concept. They’ll be joined by displays of STI performance parts and merchandise that can be purchased.
