• Customers can choose different power configurations for the reincarnated classic Alfa Romeo.
  • The thumping V6 is paired to a six-speed manual transmission.
  • Prices for the Totem Automobili GT Super start at €539,000.

Totem Automobili has just rolled out the 12th of the 40 Alfa Romeo GT Super models it will ever make, and promptly put the car through its paces at the Vairano circuit in Italy.

The small Italian company’s GT Super has been conceived as a modernized version of the iconic Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm from the late 1960s. It goes far beyond a simple restomod, as the model is based on a bespoke carbon fiber monocoque chassis that only uses select parts from a donor car. Each GT Super also comes standard with double-wishbone suspension at both axles.

Perhaps the highlight of the GT Super is the engine, a 2.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 built in partnership with Italteenica. It features individual throttle bodies, four valves per cylinder, direct and port fuel injection, and weighs just 180 kg (397 lbs). According to Totem, it’s the most compact and lightest twin-turbo V6 ever built and is available in two power configurations. In standard guise, it pumps out 591 hp (441 kW) at 7,200 rpm and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm, all while revving through to 7,500 rpm.

If this isn’t enough, customers can pick a more powerful version rated at 739 hp (551 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. Models with this higher-spec engine also rev to 8,500 rpm. All GT Super models, including this gorgeous green example, come standard with a six-speed manual transmission and a rear limited-slip differential.

Thanks to the extraordinary power and a 2,601 lbs (1,180 kg) weight figure, this beautiful Alfa Romeo can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

Both the exterior and interior of the GT Super are equally as impressive. All of the body panels are made from carbon fiber, including the doors, which have been reinforced with aramid fiber. LED headlights and taillights are also featured, while found in the cabin are bespoke carbon fiber bucket seats, a glorious gated shifter, and the finest Italian leather.

Prices for a Totem GT Super start at €539,000 (~$567,000) in its most basic configuration, but that price can easily climb by an extra €100,000 (~$106,000) once a few options are selected.
