Auction For Charity Includes Hispano-Suiza Test Drive And McLaren Spanish GP Tour

The Spanish Grand Prix kicks off on May 29 this year and we’ve found the coolest way to go. A new auction offers a full one-percenter package to the winner. It includes tickets to the race, accommodations at a castle, a chance to drive the Hispano Suiza Carmen, and more. The proceeds even end up going to one of the world’s greatest car museums.

Up for sale through Bring A Trailer, this “experience for charity” benefits the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles, California. The winner will attend the Spanish GP later this year but that might not even end up being the highlight. First, they’ll enjoy accommodations in Spain and attend a private tour of the Hispano Suiza factory.

Then, they’ll have a chance to drive the Carmen, an all-electric “hypercar” built by Hispano Suiza. It makes 1,005 horsepower ( kW) and leverages four electric motors to do so. The winning bidder will get to decide if they take it out on the road in Peralada or onto the track at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. That alone sounds like a fabulous package but it gets better still.

The winner will enjoy accommodations at the Peralada Resort. They’ll dine at the Cellar 1923 wine bar and restaurant and they’ll enjoy another night at dinner inside the Castell Peralada, a restaurant set inside of a real 14th-century castle. Should they choose to, they can also play a round of golf at the resort during their stay.

Oh, and we should mention that the F1 tickets aren’t just up in the nosebleed section. Instead, the winner and one guest will enjoy a private behind-the-scenes tour of the McLaren paddock. They’ll be allowed to watch the race from the McLaren garage should they desire to and they’ll go home with one of Oscar Piastri’s worn and signed race suits. Of all the ways to attend an F1 race, this might be the very best one.
