- The M4 GTS features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six producing 493 hp.
- BMW equipped the limited-edition model with a unique water injection system.
- Only 700 examples of the exclusive M4 GTS were produced for global distribution.
The BMW M division is on the precipice of massive changes and, in the not-too-distant future, will release its first fully-fledged BEV. That said, it will continue to churn out ICE models for the direct replacements of the M3 and M4 that will be offered alongside a pure i3 M (or whatever it’s called) EV. However, as BMW straddles this hybrid future, certain ICE models, like the M4 GTS, are poised to hold their ground as modern classics.
Introduced in 2016, the GTS was the pinnacle of the F82 generation of M4 and capped at just 700 units. This car has been listed for auction in Jacksonville, Florida, and despite almost being a decade old, has only been driven 538 miles (865 km). If the current G82 M4 doesn’t quite do it for you, this might be the perfect sports car.

Adorning the bodywork is a shade of Mineral Gray Metallic with several bright orange accents, including the 20-inch 666M alloy wheels clad in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The M4 GTS also sits on gold-painted brake calipers with carbon ceramic discs at all four corners. As a GTS model, it also rocks an adjustable rear wing, a carbon fiber rear, and OLED taillights.
There’s plenty more to like about the car. It has adjustable three-way suspension, and BMW M worked on the fabulous twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder, meaning it now pumps out 493 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. One of the most intriguing upgrades made to the car was the fitment of a water injection system that shoots water into the intake manifold under high load and RPM, allowing BMW to increase boost pressure.
Mated to this raging six-cylinder is a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the rear wheels. An OEM titanium exhaust also gives the car a note that cannot be matched by any regular F82 M4.
When it was new, this M4 GTS went for $134,200, and it’ll be interesting to see how much this one fetches. Head on over to Bring a Trailer if you want to place a bid.
