- Fire-damaged Porsche 930 Turbo and 911 Targa spark debate in a viral TikTok video.
- Some question whether the footage of the destroyed Porsches is real or AI-generated.
- The incident was misattributed to the Los Angeles wildfires, but this claim was debunked.
We all have a soft spot for classic Porsches, and their skyrocketing values over the years are proof enough. But now, a viral TikTok video has ignited both curiosity and controversy, leaving the internet debating whether it’s authentic footage or some AI-generated fever dream. Welcome to 2025, where the line between reality and technology seems blurrier by the day.
The original video was posted on TikTok by user @braden__._ and quickly racked up nearly 1 million views in less than 24 hours before being taken down. It also gained 124,000 likes during its brief stint online, proving that few things capture attention like destroyed vintage Porsches. But the mystery didn’t end there.

The video in question allegedly showcases the aftermath of a devastating fire involving several luxury Porsches. Among the casualties is a completely gutted Porsche 930 Turbo and a heavily damaged R230 Mercedes-Benz SL550. Police tape surrounds the scene, with a sign reading “Warning: This may be evidence” hangs ominously near the Porsche’s engine bay.
In the next room, we can see what looks like an example of the original 911 Targa. While in better condition than the other vehicles, the Targa has suffered significant damage, with part of the roof collapsed onto the smoked bodywork, and the rear windscreen is completely shattered.
The clip soon spread to other platforms like Instagram and Reddit, where many users in the r/Porsche thread misidentified the incident as being linked to the Los Angeles wildfires. However, eagle-eyed commenters quickly debunked this theory, pointing out inconsistencies in the background. The debate didn’t stop there as other users began speculating whether the video was even real, suggesting it could be the work of artificial intelligence.
On Tik Tok, the creator (supposedly) clarified the confusion in the comments, stating, “I’m on the East Coast, it’s just a coincidence with what’s going on over in the West. Keeping all of the families involved in my prayers.” If we take the video at face value, this explanation might explain why the valuable classics weren’t relocated before the fire—but it still leaves plenty of questions unanswered.
Fueling the Mystery
Interestingly, The same TikTok user also shared a photo on TikTok and Instagram featuring three Porsche 911s, including a red 930 Turbo that is allegedly the same car seen burned in the video. The image, captioned with a religious message, hasn’t done much to confirm the video’s authenticity but has certainly added fuel to the fire (pun fully intended).
In an effort to verify the video’s authenticity, we ran multiple reverse image searches on the footage and accompanying photos. So far, nada. At the time of publication, we couldn’t confirm whether the viral clip depicts a real-life tragedy or a clever AI fabrication. Some details, however, don’t add up—like the fact that the burned Mercedes’ tires appear to be intact.
But you can bet we’ll keep digging. If you’ve got any leads or insider knowledge, send it our way and we’ll look into it.
