- Spy photographers have captured the first images of the upcoming Ferrari 296 VS.
- Despite being heavily disguised, we can see a new bumper, spoiler, diffuser, and wheels.
- The new model may debut in April with more power and less weight than the 296 GTB.
The Ferrari 296 VS has been spied undergoing testing in Maranello, ahead of its debut later this year. It’s one of six new models for 2025, although most of the attention has been focused on the brand’s upcoming EV that will debut in the fourth quarter.
Getting back to the 296 VS, the prototype is covered in a bulky disguise that makes changes hard to distinguish. However, we can get a glimpse of a new front bumper that features three lower vents at the outside edges.

The changes continue further back with lightweight wheels that have slender spokes covered in tape. They’re backed up by a carbon ceramic braking system, which sports Ferrari-branded yellow calipers.
The rear end looks pretty uneventful, but it appears the 296 VS will have a more pronounced spoiler. We can also see the outline of a more aggressive diffuser.
Spy photographers got a brief glance inside, although most of the interior was hidden by camouflage. That’s unfortunate, but changes likely won’t be too extensive.
That being said, we can expect the 296 VS to be lighter and more powerful than the 296 GTB. The latter has a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 that is backed up by an electric motor and a battery pack. This gives the model a combined output of 819 hp (610 kW / 830 PS) and 546 lb-ft (740 Nm) of torque as well as an electric-only range of 16 miles (25 km). More importantly, the coupe can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 205 mph (330 km/h).
