Corvette C8 Crashes Into Rocks After Sliding In The Rain

Nobody likes seeing nice cars damaged and in Israel earlier this month, a C8 Chevy Corvette was wrecked in Israel after spearing off a motorway and crashing into several large rocks. What makes the accident all the more disheartening is the fact that it could have been easily avoided had the driver of the ‘Vette been a little more careful.

Dashcam footage captured the crash and the moments leading up to it. The white Corvette can be seen careening past the cammer down the fast lane of a multi-lane highway during a rainstorm. It’s impossible to say if the ‘Vette was going faster than the speed limit, or if the cammer was just going very slowly, but regardless, it wasn’t long before things went downhill for the Chevy.

While it briefly disappears from the camera, it comes back into view as it spins and begins to slide across the road. It narrowly avoided slamming into an impact attenuator on the edge of the highway, slid up a small grass embankment, and came to rest on several large rocks.

Unsurprisingly, the car’s unplanned off-road adventure has caused extensive damage. Both the front wheels appear to have been knocked out of position, and the passenger-side wing mirror has been ripped off. The rear bumper has also taken a hefty hit and will need to be replaced if this ‘Vette is ever to return to the roads. The side skirt on the driver’s side has also taken a hefty impact.

While it’s difficult to determine the full extent of the damage done to the Chevy, there’s a good chance the underside took a fair whack, and there could be several parts that need to be replaced. Had the car slid into the crash attenuator, the damage could have been even worse.

Last month, a C8 Corvette in the US was almost split in half after sliding sideways into a pole. Had this ‘Vette hit the barrier side-on, it could have suffered a similar fate.
