• German dealer Carpoint has unveiled the sportiest-looking Dacia Duster yet.
  • The Duster Redust Sport edition gets a host of exterior and interior upgrades.
  • While the powertrain remains stock, it gains coilover suspension and new wheels.

The Dacia Duster has won over European buyers with its rugged styling, spacious interior, and unbeatable affordability, so much so that it dethroned the Tesla Model Y as the continent’s best-selling car of 2024. But for those who want a sportier look and a more road-focused stance without completely abandoning its budget-friendly ethos, German dealer Carpoint has introduced the Redust Sport edition.

The unofficial Dacia Duster RS (Redust Sport instead of Renault Sport) first surfaced in renderings a few months ago. Now, with real-world builds finally hitting the streets, we can see that it delivers on its bold promises with a full suite of visual upgrades.

Review: Is The New Dacia Duster Still The King Of Budget SUVs?

The Redust Sport follows in the footsteps of Carpoint’s previous-generation Duster build, featuring a lowered stance courtesy of KW coilover suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, and wheel spacers. The new body kit is even more aggressive, with a prominent hood scoop, 20 mm (0.8 inches) of added width via fender extensions, deeper side skirts, a rear spoiler, and the removal of the roof rails for a sleeker silhouette.

To really drive home the “sporty” transformation, Carpoint has fitted a centrally mounted dual-exhaust system something you’d expect on a high-performance built or supercar rather than one of most affordable SUVs in the market. As a final touch, the bodywork has been wrapped in a striking orange shade, combined with a glossy black finish for the plastic cladding and special covers for the rear side windows.

Step inside, and the Dacia dials up the drama even further. Leather seats feature bright orange inserts and stitching, a look that wouldn’t feel out of place on a high-end Mansory build. The same orange theme extends to the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and door panels, all set against RGB ambient lighting reminiscent of a gaming keyboard.

No Extra Power, Just Extra Style

Despite its aggressive looks, the Redust Sport doesn’t get any performance upgrades. The example shown here is powered by Renault’s self-charging hybrid system, producing 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS). A second variant based on the 1.3 TCe mild-hybrid with 128 hp (96 kW / 130 PS) and all-wheel drive is also available, riding on a different set of five-spoke 20-inch alloys and featuring a matte black wrap. Interior changes on this model are limited to Velour floor mats.

Both versions are based on the Duster Extreme, the range-topping trim that already includes a generous amount of standard equipment.

How Much Does It Cost?

If you want the sportiest-looking Duster yet, be prepared to pay a premium. The mild-hybrid versions are priced at €42,490 (equal to $44,500 at current exchange rates), while the hybrid variant will set you back a staggering €52,990 ($55,500). That’s a full €21,490 ($22,500) more than a stock Duster Extreme Hybrid from Carpoint, pushing it well into BMW and Mercedes territory.

Is it worth it? That depends on how much you value exclusivity, and whether you’re willing to spend luxury SUV money on a decked-out Dacia.
