• Police have yet to make any arrests in connection to the spate of vehicle thefts.
  • A Toyota RAV4 and a Toyota Kluger were the first two vehicles stolen.
  • A white Lexus GS250 was also stolen and used when snatching the Ferrari.

Police in Australia recently tracked down a stolen Ferrari 488 GTB after a string of car thefts in a suburb just west of Melbourne last week. While authorities have recovered the high-end sports car, no arrests have been made yet. The Ferrari was one of several vehicles stolen over a two-day crime spree in the area.

According to the Victoria Police’s Wyndam Crime Investigation Unit, the spate of robberies started at roughly 1:40 a.m. on the morning of January 29 on Cottee Road in Truganina. A group of three thieves are believed to have entered a home through an open garage door and proceeded to steal a white 2010 Toyota RAV4 and a 2012 Toyota Kluger.

Not long after, several offenders broke into another home in the early hours of the morning and made off with a white Lexus GS250. But the group didn’t stop there. The following night, they returned to the area—only this time, they set their sights on something far more valuable.

Authorities say the suspects broke into yet another home and made off with a black Ferrari 488 GTB. Security camera footage from a nearby house captured the moment the thieves drove away in the mid-engined supercar.

Fortunately for the owner of the Ferrari, police managed to locate their prized supercar not long after the theft. The stolen RAV4 was also recovered, but the Lexus hasn’t been found yet.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have seen the thefts or has relevant dashcam or security footage to come forward and contact police.
